Two held for selling fake LTC package

NEW DELHI:A syndicate indulged in cheating government servants by organsing leave travel concession (LTC) tours busted and two persons Ashwani Singh (32), and Harpat Singh (26), were arrested, a police official said.

A syndicate indulged in cheating government servants by organsing leave travel concession (LTC) tours busted and two persons Ashwani Singh (32), and Harpat Singh (26), were arrested, a police official said.

Complainant Surender Kumar alleged that a woman contacted him regarding a tour for Jammu and Kashmir for government employees. She introduced herself as the marketing executive in INI Tour and Travel Pvt Ltd, said the official.

Kumar got influenced and paid Rs 91,000 to the woman.

On June 15, 2013, when Kumar visited the office of the said company in Connaught Place, neither the company nor the woman was there. Apart from the said case, about 60 complaints from the employees of different government organisations were also lodged against the alleged company, the official said.

It came to light that the company had cheated many government employees and after collecting the money, shut down the business.

The police traced the members of the fraud company. During interrogation, it was revealed that the arrested persons hired the staffs and assigned them a task to sell LTC package to government employees for a tour to Srinagar, said DCP Madhur Varema (New Delhi).

They offered the package for June, 21013, and 180 passengers departed from New Delhi to Sri Nagar through GO Airline, but on June 16, 2013, when the passengers moved to the Sri Nagar Airport for their return journey their flight was reported to be cancelled due to non payment to the airlines, he said.

In the same way, 180 more passengers reached at the airport in New Delhi to start their tour to Sri Nagar on June 16, 2013, their flight was also reported to beas cancelled due to non payment to the airline company, he said.
