MP raises corruption issue at NIT

BJP MP-cum-Chairman of Parliamentary Defence Committee BC Khanduri raised the issue of corruption and mismanagement in National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Sumadi, Pauri Garhwal district, at Lok Sabha today.

BJP MP-cum-Chairman of Parliamentary Defence Committee BC Khanduri raised the issue of corruption and mismanagement in National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Sumadi, Pauri Garhwal district, at Lok Sabha today.

Raising the issue during zero hour, Khanduri said the NIT was set up five years back at Sumadi area in his Pauri Garhwal constituency and the institute was still to become fully operational.

He said he had been receiving complaints about the NIT.

“A large scale of financial anomalies is taking place at the NIT. There are complaints of harassment of faculties,” he added.

Khanduri had also written a letter to Union Human Resource Minister Smriti Irani over the issue.
