28 fresh cases take dengue count to 2,351

Chandigarh: The tricity and the surrounding areas today recorded 28 fresh cases of dengue and nine of chikungunya. Of these, 18 dengue cases and two of chikungunya were reported from Mohali district while 10 cases of dengue and seven of chikungunya were reported from Chandigarh.

The tricity and the surrounding areas today recorded 28 fresh cases of dengue and nine of chikungunya. Of these, 18 dengue cases and two of chikungunya were reported from Mohali district while 10 cases of dengue and seven of chikungunya were reported from Chandigarh. Panchkula, meanwhile, did not report any case of dengue and chikungunya today.

Health officials said daily fumigation was being carried out along with creating mass awareness and checking of breeding sources such as coolers, containers and tyres.

Free testing 

Free dengue-testing facility is available at the Department of Virology, PGI, the Department of Microbiology GMCH-32 and GMSH-16, and the District Priority Lab (IDSP) at the Civil Hospital, Mani Majra.
