5 paramilitary units for Muktsar dist

Muktsar, January 7

The Election Commission has sent two companies of paramilitary forces to the Badals’ home district Muktsar.

These have been deployed along the boundary with neighbouring states Rajasthan and Haryana. Further, three more companies of paramilitary forces are likely to be deployed soon.

“We have got two companies of the ITBP. Those have been deployed on the ‘nakas’ on the inter-state border. Two companies of the CRPF are likely to reach by tomorrow. One more company of the CRPF will come here in the next few days,” said Gurpreet Singh Gill, SSP, Muktsar, who was transferred last night by the EC. One company of the paramilitary forces comprises nearly 90 security personnel. — TNS
