The committee also sought the suspension of Kapurthala SSP Rajinder Singh and the fixing of responsibility of other senior policemen.

A partial bandh was observed in Kapurthala from 10 am to 2 pm. All commercial establishments, educational institutions, shops remained closed. People in large numbers took part in the protest at Bhagat Singh Chowk.
