The BJP’s crucial office-bearers meeting began at Baddi today where a strategy to sharpen the party’s offensive against the Congress government in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state was chalked out.

Apart from reviewing the party’s programmes, including the Prime Minister’s rally and Tridev Sammelan the leaders also chalked out the organisational programmes for the next two months. Issues like strengthening the party organisation at mandal and booth level were also discussed. Since three more Tridev Sammelans are slated to be convened in the Kangra, Mandi and Hamirpur parliamentary constituencies, a discussion on their successful implementation was also held.

The meeting also passed a resolution lauding the achievements of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and another condemning the corruption prevailing in the state government.

The meeting was attended by senior leaders, including Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister PK Dhumal, party’s state in-charge Shrikant Sharma, state president Satpal Satti, chief spokesman Rajiv Bindal, organising secretary Pawan Rana, MPs Virender Kashyap and Anurag Thakur and heads of front organisations.

MP Shanta Kumar and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda were conspicuous by their absence.

Earlier, Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur was welcomed on his arrival at Baddi by the activists of the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha. While addressing the BJYM activists he said various mafias, including forest, mining, transfer, drug, etc., were proliferating under the protection of the state government. He said the state had suffered badly and the same state which had excelled under the regime of former Chief Minister PK Dhumal had now taken a backseat in development.

He said development had come to a standstill and corruption was rampant in the government. He urged the youth to vote for the BJP and bring back development in the state. He said Chief Minister was busy in defending himself in court cases and ministries along with the officials were neck deep in corruption.

Hopeful of the BJP assuming power in the state, he said the day was not far when BJP would form the next government in the state. The youth was eagerly awaiting the Vidhan Sabha polls. He said especially the youth had been cheated by the Congress government on the promise of unemployment allowance.

He said it was appalling to note that people were without water and power in the state’s capital for the last four days and the government had failed to provide these basic amenities to the people.

He also elaborated on the various developmental schemes of the Centre government, including Jan Dhan scheme, demonetisation, digital India, etc., and said the country was ushering in an era of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
