Attacking Chief Minister Harish Rawat for his alleged failure to develop the state, BJP leaders participating in the Partivartan Yatra today appealed voters of the Kumaon region to vote for BJP to bring about the change in the state as was being witnessed in the BJP-ruled states in the country.

The party’s ‘parivartan rath’ reached Bazpur, Bailpadav , Kaldhungi and Kotabagh in Nainital district on its second day today. Senior BJP leaders, while addressing the workers, alleged that the Chief Minister had become an ambassador of fake assurances while BJP under Prime Minister Modi was taking the country on the path of progress by unearthing black money. “The Modi government has introduced more schemes for poor of the country to eradicate poverty,” said Ajay Tamta, Union Minister of State for Textiles, while addressing a rally during Parivartan Yatra.

According to state coordinator of the yatra MP Balraj Passi, the manner in which the Parivartan Yatra is being welcomed by people of Kumaon region is an indicator that the people will oust the corrupt Congress government in the Assembly election next year. “People have decided to change family and mafia politics soon,” said Passi.

According to Kumaon region yatra coordinator Dan Singh Rawat, the yatra was attended by Ajay Tamta, former Ramnagar MLA Deewan Singh, Bindesh Gupta, Balraj Passi, Kailash Pant, Gajraj Bisht and former minister Bansidhar Bhagat. The meetings were held at Ramnagar, Kotabagh, Kaladhungi and Bazpur where people thronged in large numbers to listen BJP leaders, said Dan Singh Rawat.
