Class XII students find math exam easy but lengthy

Class XII students, who appeared for their mathematics board examination today, termed it to be simple yet lengthy due to which they could not attempt all questions.

The paper, they said, was better than that of 2016 when students had petitioned the CBSE for grace marks.

“Thankfully, the paper was not like last year. But it was lengthy. I left two questions and didn’t get time for revision,” said Tanish, a student of The British School, Sector 44, Chandigarh. He added that he found question no. 26 tricky.

Bhavya Chopra from St Anne’s School said, “We had to write questions worth four to six marks in the two mark category, which made the paper lengthy.”

Snigdha Panday, a student of St Anne’s School, said as compared to last year’s question paper, this year’s paper was much better. “But it was excessively lengthy,” she said.

Another student Varun from The British School said, “Two and six mark questions were tricky, which took a lot of time and in turn, made it difficult for us to complete the paper in time. The new marking scheme introduced this year by the CBSE has not done much for the students. It has made all the papers lengthy.”

“It was a lengthy paper with some tricky questions but over all a not so bad paper,” said Abhaas from St Anne’s.

His friend Siddhant, too, said the paper was easy but the length made it impossible for most students to complete it in time.
