Mandi, March 25

Rural Development Minister Anil Sharma today urged farmers of the district to take the advantage of the National Agricultural Market portal to get the e-marketing facility for their agriculture and horticulture produce.

Today, he launched the e-portal at Kangni in Mandi to link the agriculture produce marketing committee to the National Agriculture Market.

Addressing the gathering, the minister said in 2016, two markets of Himachal Pradesh were added to the National Agricultural Market portal and by the end of this financial year, all 19 markets would be added to it.

“On this portal, the farmers can arrange an online bid of their produce and establish direct communication with the trader. They can sell their product without any marketing agent. In addition, the prices of agricultural produce in markets across the country will also be available to them online. The quality of the product is also examined in the system, which will give them an opportunity to get better prices for the produce,” he said.
