In a shocking incident, an infant died after her father allegedly tossed her on the floor in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district today.

The police said an eight-month-old baby girl, Aalima, was tossed by her father after a scuffle with his wife in the Bamloora area of Ganderbal this morning.

“The father (Javed Ahmed Wani) had an argument with his wife and it was followed by a scuffle. He later tossed the infant and she died on the spot,” a police officer said.

The police later registered a case and arrested the accused. “Wani was a drug addict,” the officer said.
