Five get life term for two murder cases in Fatehabad

FATEHABAD: Five persons were awarded life imprisonment in two cases of murder in Fatehabad today.

Five persons were awarded life imprisonment in two cases of murder in Fatehabad today.

The District and Sessions Judge sentenced a man to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 12,000 for beating his wife to death at Hukmawali village of Fatehabad .

In another case, Additional District and Sessions Judge Shalini Nagpal sentenced four youths to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 each for beating Ashok (35) to death at Tohana town of this district.

In the first case, the accused Gamdoor Singh had beaten his wife, Karamjit Kaur, to death on January 2, 2014, and tried to dispose of her body.

In the second case, Ashok had gone to a shop to purchase a pair of shoes where he had a dispute with the shopkeeper over its price. He was beaten to death by Suresh, Ravinder, Sanjay and Dharampal on August 30, 2013.

The police had arrested the accused after booking them for murder.
