Four electrocuted in Fatehabad village

FATEHABAD: Four persons were electrocuted while repairing a motor at a tubewell in Hinjrawan Kalan village of the district late last evening.

Four persons were electrocuted while repairing a motor at a tubewell in Hinjrawan Kalan village of the district late last evening.

The victims have been identified as Kashmir Singh (50), the owner of the tubewell, his nephew Rajpreet (20), tubewell mechanic Harphool Singh (42) and his helper Gurdas.

According to villagers, 11KV electricity wire was passing above the site where Kashmir Singh had his tubewell.

When the victims were trying to put a metal pipe into the bore dug for the submersible tubewell, its upper end accidently touched the overhead electricity wires. All four people who were holding the pipe were electrocuted.

Villagers rushed them to a private hospital in the village, but the doctors declared them brought dead.

Fatehabad MLA Balwan Singh Daulatpuria expressed his condolences to the grieved families.
