Polymer is the material of the future when it comes to interior finishes as it is durable, adaptable, multi-functional and suitable for energy-efficient buildings. “Be it the UPVC doors and windows laminates, bathroom or kitchen fittings, polymer has added a new dimension to home and office interiors and is the material that budding architects should be familiar with these days”, said Ajay Khurana, South Asia chairman of Germany-based group REHAU. The German company is a leading system and service provider for polymer-based solutions in windows, furniture & building industry.

As a part of its outreach initiative to interact with consumers and architects at their doorstep through its mobile Inspiration Express, the company showcased its range of advanced living solutions at Chandigarh College of Architecture earlier this week.

“Contemporary architecture has to be complemented with contemporary materials and students of architecture course can benefit by being aware of the different ways in which these can be used”, said Kulveen Kaur, Deputy Marketing Manager, REHAU. “Space saving and energy-efficient designs are the two most important things that an architect has to consider these days and students as well as end users can get to see a variety of products based on these principals here”, added Ulhas, Regional Sales Manager of the company. While the UPVC doors and windows can go a long way in saving loss of energy due to their double sealing design which makes airconditioning and heating more efficient, the advanced heating and cooling system can save up to 30 per on overall energy costs, he added. Pre-laminated boards, crystal laminates, acoustic plumbing pipes, space-saving kitchen cabinets, rolling shutters, energy-efficient doors and windows and heating and cooling system were some of the products showcased by the company.

The Inspiration Express was unveiled on February 23, 2018, in the presence of leading architects displays various furniture solutions, windows solutions, plumbing and underfloor heating and cooling solutions. It has travelled to major cities in India, including Roorkee, Dehradun, Haridwar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Hisar, Manesar, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida & Greater Noida where it has interacted with dealers, architects, interior designers, contractors and consumers. This ‘direct-to-consumer’approach is a part of the special services offered to consumers, which is not possible through physical stores. — Geetu Vaid
