Amritsar, November 11

In an unexplained development, former MP Dhyan Singh Mand, who had reportedly been put under house arrest today by the police, appeared in the Golden Temple complex 30 minutes after Jathedar Gurbachan Singh concluded his address from Darshani Deodi.

He was accompanied by a few of his supporters.

Mand, who was nominated to take charge in the absence of jailed Jagtar Singh Hawara, who has been named Akal Takht jathedar by the radicals, delivered his parallel ‘Bandi Chhor Divas address’ standing below Akal Takht.

After delivering the message, Mand and his followers entered Akal Takht and paid obeisance.

Attacking the Badal government, Mand appealed to the Sikh community to protest against the detention of Panthic leaders, including Simranjit Singh Mann and Mohkam Singh. He asked the community to socially boycott Badal.

While Mand was reported to have been put under house arrest, it was not clear how he managed to reach the Golden Temple.
