Local MLA Ganesh Joshi met Union Telecom Minister Ravishankar Prasad at his office in New Delhi today and demanded a provision of Wi-fi facilities on Mall Road in Mussoorie and Nainital, besides the Triveni ghats in Rishikesh.
Joshi submitted a memorandum to the minister and said tourist towns such as Mussoorie and Nainital, besides pilgrim city Rishikesh would benefit immensely from the Wi-fi services. He thanked the Central government for making the Varanasi ghats a Wi-fi zone and said people of Uttarakhand would also benefit if the services were also introduced in Mussoorie, Nainital and Rishikesh.
He demanded inclusion of Uttarakhand in the second phase of providing Wi-fi services to tourists here. The Telecom Minster assured Joshi of looking into the matter and doing the needful.
