Led by Leader of the Opposition Abhay Chautala, INLD leaders today submitted a memorandum to Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, demanding a high-level inquiry into the on-going purchase of paddy ,bajra and other scams. They also revoked their decision to observe a “black Diwali” after the Governor’s assurance to act swiftly in the matter.

Abhay Chautala, accompanied by state unit chief Ashok Arora and other party leaders, alleged in the memorandum that state farmers were being fleeced in various grain markets by private traders with the connivance of officers. They alleged that J-forms were being issued of MSP but farmers were being paid lesser amounts.

“The Governor has assured us of an inquiry into the ongoing purchase of paddy and personal visits to grain markets. The Governor also asked us to reconsider our decision of observing a “black Diwali”. Since he has assured us of taking required action, we have withdrawn our decision to observe a ‘black Diwali’,” said Abhay after submitting the memorandum to the Governor.
