Peoples Democratic Party president and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today reiterated that since its inception the party had provided an alternative narrative in Jammu and Kashmir and helped in enhancing peace constituency in the state and the subcontinent.

Addressing party workers of Kangan and Ganderbal here, Mehbooba reminded the people of the acrimony and hostile situation in the state and between the two countries that existed at that time.

She said her party with the support of people was able to change that discourse and convince the country’s leadership to take some bold decisions on J&K and provide people the much-needed relief.

“You are aware of the political discourse that existed in the state when our party was formed,” she reminded the party workers.

Since then, the party has been working towards enhancing peace in the state which got consolidated due to the transparent governance of the party from 2002 to 2005, the PDP president said.
