The local police authorities have maintained that fair and unbiased actions had been taken regarding the arson-violence episodes witnessed during the Jat agitation for reservation last year.

The statement comes in the wake of AIJASS leader Yashpal Malik’s allegations that different parameters were being adopted in dealing with cases registered against the members of Jat and non-Jat communities.

Refuting the allegations by citing specific instances today, the police authorities maintained that if any person(s) still had any complaint of bias or lack of proper action on part of the police, they could convey their grievance(s) to the local SP directly.

Meanwhile, the police authorities and paramilitary forces have made elaborate arrangements to ensure the safety and security of the residents in view of the black day demonstration to be staged by the All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) tomorrow.

In a statement issued here today, the local police authorities maintained that the vehicles bound for the dharna site at Jassia village would not be allowed to enter Rohtak town.

While the protesters have been directed to use the outer bypass roadto reach Jassia, residents and commuters who need to go to Gohana or Panipat have been asked to go via Kharkhauda or Lakhanmajra.

Rohtak SP Pankaj Nain inspected the nakas put up at strategic points and directed the officials concerned to be alert and vigilant. He said adequate security personnel had been deployed around the statues of great personalities, government buildings and other significant locations.

The SP has appealed to the people not to believe or propagate objectionable/inflammatory information and promptly inform the police on coming across any suspicious person(s) or activity.
