Rice millers, agents back Congress candidate

KHANNA: Congress candidate from Khanna constituency — Gurkirat Singh Kotli —intensified his election campaign in the area by organising meetings with rice millers, commission agents and conducting door-to-door campaign.

Congress candidate from Khanna constituency — Gurkirat Singh Kotli —intensified his election campaign in the area by organising meetings with rice millers, commission agents and conducting door-to-door campaign.

Kotli today visited Rahon village and conducted door-to-door meetings with villagers to vote for him. Later, he and other local leaders met rice millers and commission agents on Samrala road. Rice Miller Association President Hardiala Singh Diali, Commission Agents’ Association President Khanna Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi and others spoke to him about their problems. The unions assured vote and support to Kotli and honored him. Kotli said everyone, including industrialists, commission agents, farmers, laborers, rice millers, were facing hardships due to the anti-people policies of the Akali Dal-BJP government. He assured that after coming to power, the Congress would look into their problems and solve those on a priority.

In the meantime, Rajput community members of Ward No. 13 led by Gurinder Singh Bagga and Gurnam Singh Gama declared their support to Kotli and said their community would vote in large number to help him win. Vijay Sharma, Vikas Mehta and other senior leaders of the Congress were also present at this time along with Kotli.
