A seminar was organised at Mata Ganga Khalsa College for Girls, Manji Sahib, Kottan, by the Department of Sociology on ‘Place of Women in Indian Society and Female Foeticide’.

A seminar was organised at Mata Ganga Khalsa College for Girls, Manji Sahib, Kottan, by the Department of Sociology on ‘Place of Women in Indian Society and Female Foeticide’.

Inter-class essay writing and declamation contest were also conducted. Students of the department participated with great enthusiasm.

Ravneet Kaur of BA-III, Prabhjot Kaur of BA-I and Jaskaran Kaur of BA-I won the first, second and third prize in essay-writing contest, respectively. In declamation contest, Ravneet Kaur of BA-III won the first position, Hardeep Kaur came second and Parminder Kaur secured the third position.

Principal Kuldip Kaur Dhaliwal thanked all guests and appreciated the efforts of Varinderjit Kaur, head of sociology department, and motivated students to keep on participating as these seminars help in developing the overall personality and confidence building.
