SGPC aid to renovate houses of riot victims

AMRITSAR: Considering the deplorable condition of houses allotted to 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims at Tilak Vihar in Delhi, the SGPC today announced to release Rs 10 lakh each as renovation cost.

Amritsar, January 17

Considering the deplorable condition of houses allotted to 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims at Tilak Vihar in Delhi, the SGPC today announced to release Rs 10 lakh each as renovation cost.

SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar said over three decades had lapsed, but those responsible for riots could not bring to justice. “The attack at the Golden Temple and the Akal Takht, followed by the Sikh genocide, was the horrendous crime committed in 1984 which had exposed the true face of the Congress. The victims are still vying to get justice and culprits are still out of reach,” he said.

Badungar appealed to PMNarendra Modi to expedite the proceedings related to the reports submitted by the investigating teams in a time-bound manner. — TNS
