SGPC to set up museum in Chamkaur Sahib

DORAHA: “The families of the 285 Sikhs who were jailed during Operation Bluestar will be given jobs on the basis of eligibility and Rs 50,000 every year,” said SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar in the meeting of the executive committee.

“The families of the 285 Sikhs who were jailed during Operation Bluestar will be given jobs on the basis of eligibility and Rs 50,000 every year,” said SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar in the meeting of the executive committee.

The death of Sant Jasvir Singh Khalsa’s (Kalamallah), member, SGPC, was mourned. It was decided that his picture would be displayed in the Central Museum and Rs 50,000 would be donated to the library in his name.

It was decided in the meeting that a museum would be set up in Chamkaur Sahib in the memory of the 40 Sikhs and Baba Sant Singh who sacrificed their lives for Sikhism. — OC
