Snow, showers bring cheer to farmers

Tribal areas and higher reaches of the state witnessed fresh snowfall while mid and lower hills received widespread rain, bringing cheer to farmers.

The high mountain ranges of Bharmour and the Pangi tribal areas of Chamba district received heavy snowfall since the last night, bringing cheer to farmers. The Pir Panjal mountains of Jammu and Kashmir adjacent to Chamba district have also been experiencing heavy snowfall, reports said.

The heavy snowfall has kindled hope for apple and other fruit growers of the area for a good crop.

The heavy rain has brought cheer to farmers of the district which could prove beneficial for the rabi crops in the area.
