Students begin global campaign for peace

JAMMU: Students of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, initiated an academic campaign, ‘Peace, Progress, Prosperity’ under the Facebook digital global initiative ‘P2P (peer to peer) challenge’.

Students of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, initiated an academic campaign, ‘Peace, Progress, Prosperity’ under the Facebook digital global initiative ‘P2P (peer to peer) challenge’.

Under the campaign, students from various universities across the globe will work in coordination with ‘Edventure Partners’ on various global concerns. BGSBU is among the 175 global universities participating in the programme.

A team of 16 students of the School of Management Studies under the guidance of Danish Iqbal, assistant professor and faculty coordinator of the programme in association with Natasha Yaqob of Edventure Partners, USA, have been working on the project.

The campaign aspires to cover students within the campus and across the sister universities in J&K. Besides students, business leaders, budding entrepreneurs and other organisations and individuals have been at the forefront of global peace and harmony and have been creating opportunities for others in spite of challenges and uncertainties. The project was officially kicked off by Prof Javaid Mussarat, Vice Chancellor, BGSBU.

He congratulated the dean, School of Management Studies, Prof Naseem Ahmed, and his entire team for taking up such an important initiative to develop management graduates as global citizens. Under this initiative, the university students interacted with academicians and economic sections of society. They also held an interaction with the chairman of J&K Bank.
