Traders seek hike in import duty on bicycles

Several industrialists met SN Tripathi, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner (MSME), recently and apprised him of the problems being faced by them.

They demanded that the import duty on cycle parts and bicycles be increased by 15%. They said to provide a fillip to the ‘Make In India’, the Maximum Import Price on steel must be removed so that the monopoly of the Indian steel firms ends. They said a steel regulatory commission should be formed to regulate steel prices in the country.—TNS
