Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today inaugurated projects worth Rs 13 crore for the people of Renukaji during his two-day tour to Sirmaur district.

He also laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 8.77 crore.

Addressing a public meeting at Mahipur, the Chief Minister announced the upgrade of Government Middle Schools, Mahipur and Anji Banona, to Government High School and opening of new primary school at Marath in Gram Panchayat, Mahipur.

He also announced the upgrade of Veterinary Dispensary, Parara, to Veterinary Hospital and opening of veterinary dispensary at Khaina Bagh. He also announced an ayurvedic dispensary at Kainthghat and an irrigation scheme for Deed-Bagar village. He said Rs 16 crore had been sanctioned for the upgrade of the Mahipur-Jamta road.

He said development was an ongoing process and unprecedented development had taken place during the tenures of Congress governments.

He said there was a negligible road length when the state came into existence but at present there was a network of 35,000-km road length. He said the demand of a degree college at Bechar-ka-Bagh would be examined. Virbhadra Singh also inaugurated the Kamlar-Mahipur road constructed at a cost of Rs 1.60 crore.

He also flagged off an HRTC bus on the Kamlar-Mahipur road.

Earlier, Chief Minister paid obeisance at Lord Parshuram and Mata Renukaji temple. He asked the Deputy Commissioner to direct officers to check congestion problem at Dadahu bus stand.
