Youth gets life term for killing cousin

PANCHKULA: A local court today awarded life imprisonment to a youth who killed his cousin in Morni last year.

A local court today awarded life imprisonment to a youth who killed his cousin in Morni last year.

The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 to the accused identified as Sanjeev.

On May 10 last year, a 22-year-old youth, Manmohan, was allegedly murdered by Sanjeev in Baladwala village in Morni after a fight took place between them. The victim died after he was hit by a sharp-edged weapon on his head. The police said the murderer then dragged the body to an isolated area near the village after the incident. A case under Section 302 and 120 B of the IPC was lodged against him.

At the time of the incident, Sanjeev told the police that he killed him in a fit of rage.
