Two days after an uproar in the Assembly over the AIIMS project, Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar asserted on Saturday that the AIIMS-2 in Badhsa village was an extension of AIIMS in Delhi and work would continue at the same place.

He was interacting with mediapersons after inaugurating a building of the Government Senior Secondary School, gram ‘sachivalaya’ and ‘gaurav patt’ and laying the foundation stone of a new bus stand and sports complex in Badhsa village.

He said other projects sanctioned in connection with the Delhi AIIMS would be set up in Badhsa village as per the approved plan. He accused Congress leaders of spreading rumours that the AIIMS-2 was being shifted to Rewari’s Manethi village.

He pointed out that AIIMS would be established in Manethi separately and would have nothing to do with AIIMS-2. Congress leaders could not accept the fact that the BJP government was setting up an AIIMS in Manethi village, he claimed.

“The political base of Congress leaders is on the decline. They are misleading the people by making false statements to get political mileage. The government is vowed to executing all projects pertaining to AIIMS-2 in Badhsa village. The National Cancer Institute has been established,” he said.
