A woman of Khanpur ka Majra village in Yamunanagar district died on Saturday after a neighbour allegedly hit her on the head with a stick over an issue regarding keeping bricks in a street.

Suresh Chand, a resident of Khanpur ka Majra village, in a complaint to the police, said that his wife Krishna Devi (58) was going to her cattle yard on Friday. Their neighbour Rohit Kumar had kept bricks in the street, which were causing inconvenience to passersby. He alleged that when his wife asked him to shift the bricks from the street to some other place, they had an argument and Rohit hit her on the head with a stick. She sustained a head injury. She was admitted to a private hospital of Yamunanagar where she died on Saturday.

The body was taken to the Mukand Lal Civil Hospital where a post-mortem was conducted. Rishi Kumar, investigating officer, said a case had been registered against Rohit Kumar. — TNS
