IIM students get life’s lessons at TEDx talk

ROHTAK: The fourth edition of TEDx was organised in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) here on Thursday. Speakers from all spheres of life engaged with the students by exploring the theme of “Vulnerability in veracity”.

The fourth edition of TEDx was organised in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) here on Thursday. Speakers from all spheres of life engaged with the students by exploring the theme of “Vulnerability in veracity”.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the event, IIM Director Prof Dheeraj Sharma said: “We’re living in the most peaceful era, yet we are vulnerable to a number of things arising from technology, entertainment and design.”

He observed that as of now, lack of trust was one of the biggest challenges in society and the need to cultivate and maintain trust was of paramount importance.

RJ Rocky said it was only by accepting the truth about one’s strengths and weaknesses that one could take a step towards success.

On the role of the youth, noted newsreader, film and media entrepreneur Shammi Narang said: “The news industry has been spreading negativity lately, which distorts our sensibilities. It’s high time that the youth becomes the agents of change.”

Shah Miftaur Rahman, co-founder of Wow! Momo, shared his experiences as an entrepreneur in the food industry.

Dr Bhaskar Das, noted academician and management expert, talked about truth, its fragility and accompanying phenomena in today’s world.

Actress and model Apoorva Arora advised the youth to “be yourself since your flaws might not even be flaws. Learn to accept yourself and others as you and they are”.
