Chamba, March 25

District Congress Committee (DCC) president Neeraj Nayar today kicked off campaign and came down heavily on the BJP for meting out step-motherly treatment with Chamba district which is part of the Kangra constituency.

Addressing Congress workers, Nayar said the BJP had failed to give priority to the development of Chamba as it could not fulfil its promise of setting up Chamba cement plant. Moreover, the BJP had played havoc with the sentiments of the people of Chamba, Nayar added.

The false promise of the BJP had been exposed and now the people could not be fooled. On the other hand, BJP district president DS Thakur has launched the election campaign in favour its candidate Kishan Kapoor.

Thakur claimed that the BJP rank and file had started wooing voters by highlighting the achievements and reforms brought out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thakur said the BJP would win the seat in view of the development done by the Central and state government for the well-being of the people.
