Justice Ramasubramanian sworn in as High Court CJ

Justice V Ramasubramanian was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh. He was administered the oath of office by Governor Acharya Devvrat in a simple but impressive ceremony held at Raj Bhawan here.

BK Agarwal, Chief Secretary, conducted the proceedings of the oath ceremony and read out the Warrant of Appointment issued by the President of India.

Justice Ramasubramanian was born on June 30, 1958. He was enrolled as an advocate on February 16, 1983, and practised law for almost 23 years in the High Court of Madras, City & Small Causes Courts, State Consumer Commission & District Consumer Forum, Central and State Administrative Tribunals, Chennai in Service, Civil and Constitutional matters and specialised in service matters.

Thereafter, he was appointed as an additional Judge of the Madras High Court on July 31, 2006, and permanent Judge on November 9, 2009. He was transferred to the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh High Court on April 27, 2016, and of the Telangana High Court on January 1, 2019.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Speaker Rajiv Bindal, Irrigation and Public Health Minister Mahender Singh, Chief Justice of the High Court of Uttarakhand, Justice Ramesh Ranganathan, Judges of the Himachal High Court, Judges of the Madras High Court, Advocate General of Himachal Pradesh, Ashok Sharma, President, HP High Court Bar Association, Rajiv Jiwan, senior advocates, senior officers of the state government and other prominent people were also present.

A Guard of Honour was also presented to the newly appointed Chief Justice. Thereafter he assumed the office.
