Minister stresses on value-based education

KANGRA: Urban Development, Housing and Town and Country Planing Minister Sarween Chaudhary today laid thrust on the adoption of modern technology besides the basic educational techniques in imparting education to the students.

KANGRA, January 24

Urban Development, Housing and Town and Country Planing Minister Sarween Chaudhary today laid thrust on the adoption of modern technology besides the basic educational techniques in imparting education to the students. She said the state government was interested in implementing modern technology in educational institutions in the state.

Chaudhary was speaking at a prize distribution function of Government Senior Secondary School at Kaliada Shahpur today. She said the government was committed to provide better educational facilities and a positive educational environment to the students in government schools in the state.

She said that young children had aspirations. If they were provided with facilities and right direction was imparted in schools they can shine and achieve the desired goal of their life.

She also stressed on value-based education in the schools.

The minister unveiled the statue of the founder of the Indian Constitution, BR Ambedkar, on the school campus on the occasion. She also planted a sapling on the campus.

The minister awarded the students who had excelled in both academics and sports and announced Rs 8,000 cash reward to the students who participated in the cultural programmes today.
