The All-India Gaddi Schedule Tribe Vikas Samiti has criticised MP Shanta Kumar for unsavory remarks against the community. 

Madan Bharmouri, national vice-president of the samiti, today criticised Shanta for his remarks against morcha leader Trilok Kapoor who had been lobbying for the Kangra ticket. The MP had said it was the Lok Sabha elections, not an election of the Gaddi community. 

Bharmouri said the remarks had dismayed the tribal community. 

He questioned the BJP leader whether the community had no right to seek party ticket. He said the Gaddis had four lakh electorate in Kangra. 

“The Congress has always ignored the Gaddis and the community considers the party anti-tribal,” he said.

‘Derogatory remarks’

Kangra MP Shanta Kumar is being flayed for his remarks against morcha leader Trilok Kapoor who had been lobbying for the Kangra ticket. The MP had said it was the Lok Sabha elections, not an election of the Gaddi community.
