After skillfully coaching students in Jammu, cop looks at Kashmir

SRINAGAR: After 39 of his students qualified the written test for the post of sub-inspector in J&K Police, IPS officer Sandeep Chaudhary, who is now heading a south Kashmir district that is the most militancy-hit, is planning to provide free coaching for competitive exams to students in the Valley.

After 39 of his students qualified the written test for the post of sub-inspector in J&K Police, IPS officer Sandeep Chaudhary, who is now heading a south Kashmir district that is the most militancy-hit, is planning to provide free coaching for competitive exams to students in the Valley.

During his posting as Superintendent of Police, South Jammu, Chaudhary started the “Operation Dreams” initiative wherein he coached 150 students free of cost for competitive exams. The IPS officer’s initiative had drawn appreciation from various sections of society.

“I want to now launch a coaching initiative on similar lines in Kashmir also,” said Chaudhary, who took over as Superintendent of Police, Shopian, in July. “Education is a human endeavour which can effortlessly connect people from different backgrounds and thoughts. The bridge between police and Kashmir can hopefully be built through such classes.”

As many as 39 students of “Operation Dreams” cleared the J&K Police SI exam. In Jammu, Chaudhary, who hails from Punjab, conducted classes every morning from 8 am to 10 am in a community hall. The students who participated in these classes belonged to different parts of Jammu and Ladakh.
