BJP’s win, loss not end of the world: Mehbooba

Srinagar, May 20

With exit polls predicting NDA’s victory, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said Bharatiya Janata Party’s win or loss was not the end of the world.

“BJP winning or losing isn’t the end of the world. True that institutions were subverted and press standards plummeted. Yet many in the system and journalists with integrity stood up and raised their voices. Hope these results don’t deter their resolve to fight for what’s right,” Mehbooba wrote on twitter.

Mehbooba Mufti had contested elections from Anantnag Lok Sabha and she is facing a tough challenge from National Conference and Congress candidates. — TNS
