Demand for counselling ahead of board exams

JAMMU: As the annual board exams of the summer zone in the Jammu province will start in a few days, parents have demanded guidance and counselling sessions on the pattern of the ones conducted in October last year in the winter zone of the region.

Jammu, February 4

As the annual board exams of the summer zone in the Jammu province will start in a few days, parents have demanded guidance and counselling sessions on the pattern of the ones conducted in October last year in the winter zone of the region.

The parents are demanding counselling sessions to bring down the anxiety level of students ahead of the annual Class X and XII board exams.

For the first time, the guidance and counselling sessions were conducted in both government and private schools of the winter zone in the Jammu division in October last year.

“The counselling sessions were conducted in the winter zone schools after a circular was issued by the Directorate of School Education, Jammu. We are expecting a similar order for the summer zone,” said Kuldeep Singh, a parent.

“The counselling sessions were conducted for more than a week and they had immensely benefited the students,” said Koshal Kumar, another parent. “The services of trained counsellors, psychologists, yoga instructors and experienced subject experts can be utilised to lower the stress level among students,” he added. — TNS
