SRINAGAR: Srinagar city witnessed a series of peaceful protests on Monday.

Srinagar city witnessed a series of peaceful protests on Monday. A protest was held by a group of daily wagers and casual labourers of the public health engineering (PHE) department, who demanded the release of pending wages and regularisation of their services.

The protesting employees assembled at Srinagar’s Partap Park and claimed they were without wages from the past many months. The protest concluded peacefully.

Another protest was held by 40-50 anganwari workers at Pratap Park to demand a hike in their salaries.

A sit-in protest was held by all contractual and daily wage employees of Bone & Joints Hospital, Srinagar, on the hospital premises. They sought regularisation of their services. A similar sit-in protest was held at GMC, Srinagar, by adhoc medical federation of SMHS Hospital, Srinagar. They also demanded regularisation of their services.
