SRINAGAR:Schools in the Valley continued to witness almost thin attendance for the second day after these were thrown open following two weeks of tension on Monday as parents feared safety of their children.

Schools in the Valley continued to witness almost thin attendance for the second day after these were thrown open following two weeks of tension on Monday as parents feared safety of their children.

The Tribune checked nearly a dozen schools in Srinagar where almost zero attendance was recorded though the administration had tried to open the offices of the schools on the government direction that had told all schools up to the primary level to open up from Monday.

The Director School Education, Kashmir, Muhammad Younis Malik, said on Monday that there was nearly 40 percent of the staff was present in the schools. The administration has now announced that schools up to Middle class will reopen from tomorrow.
