Lecture on water conservation

With the motive to spread awareness about green environment, the Army organised screening of motivational videos and lectures on afforestation and water conservation drive for students and local populace at Government Schools Barakh, Parat, Saddah, Songri, Mathiyanigala, Sialsui and Kalakot.

With the motive to spread awareness about green environment, the Army organised screening of motivational videos and lectures on afforestation and water conservation drive for students and local populace at Government Schools Barakh, Parat, Saddah, Songri, Mathiyanigala, Sialsui and Kalakot. Various events were organised to spread awareness on importance of conserving the nature and afforestation. These events were attended by locals, teachers, students and principal of schools. All took an oath to extend this drive.

Symposium on ozone layer 

Ravi Eco-Club in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences, Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua, on Wednesday organised a symposium on the theme " Ozone Layer Depletion and Climate Change" on the college premises. The objective of the event was to sensitise the students about the present state of degrading environment and measures to combat the serious consequences of climate change. A total of 11 students participated in the event and expressed their views on the topic. The chief guest of the function was Prof Assa Ram Sharma, Principal of the college, who highlighted the importance of saving the environment for future.

IIM-Jammu, French varsity ink pact

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management, France, for academic and research collaboration. The MoU was signed by Prof BS Sahay, Director, IIM-Jammu, and Audrey Estèves, Head of International Relations, ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management. The IIM-Jammu is the fourth IIM to sign MoU with ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management after IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Indore in India. 

Sudhanshu excels in badminton 

Sudhanshu Rajwal, a Class IX student of Jammu Sanskriti School secured second position in U-17 badminton championship held at RM Public School under the banner of Sahodaya School, Jammu Chapter. In total, 12 schools participated and the final match was played between Jammu Sanskriti School and JK Public School. Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson of the school Rohini Aima congratulated coach Ravinder Singh and Master Sudhanshu Rajwal.

Light vocal solo event 

On the fourth day of the ongoing 'RangTrang-Display Your Talent-2019' organised by the Department of Student Welfare, University of Jammu (JU), the event of light vocal solo was conducted at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium. Varsha Jamwal and Nandani Kapoor from Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, stood first and second, respectively. The third position was secured by Vishwa Gandharbh Kaswalia from the Department of Law, JU. Certificates of merit were awarded to Sanchit Kaswalia, Shubham Banerjee and Pankaj Kumar.

Youth empowerment schemes 

The Army on Wednesday organised a lecture on 'Youth Empowerment Schemes in J&K' at Government High School, Acchad, Baratgala and Youth Centre, Palma, in Poonch and Rajouri districts, respectively. The aim of the event was to encourage youth take advantage of various self-employment schemes run by Central and state governments for youth empowerment. The lecture was followed by an interactive session.

Discussion at school

Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Rajpura Mangotrian on Wednesday held a discussion on different kingdoms of living organisms. The event was held for students of Class IX who discussed various characteristics of different kingdoms.
