Maa Boli Diwas march

Jalandhar:The NSS Unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar, took part in ‘Komantri Maa Boli Divas’ march. The march was organised by ‘Punjabi Jagrati Manch’. It commenced from Lyallpur Khalsa School, Nakodar Chowk, and culminated at Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Hall. Students and teachers carried banners, posters and raised slogans showed their love for Punjabi and its role in promoting the universal brotherhood. The NSS unit took pledge to save the Punjabi language from the western impact. TNS

No work, no shop workshop

Jalandhar: No work, no shop workshop organised by the Innovative Cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya concluded here today. The speaker of the workshop was Rishi Miranshah. Principal Dr Ajay Sareen welcomed him. Rishi Miranshah said relationships were falling apart these days because love had been substituted with visual simulation. He said we tried to adapt to the social environment through medication or meditation. Both could not lead us anywhere as we had lost the faculty of language to communicate with the nature and our own self. Dean Innovative Cell, Ramnita Saini Sharda, gave the vote of thanks. Dr Meenakshi, Dr Anirudh Kapoor, Kabir, Rahul Saini, Anuradha Saini, Anjana Bhatia were also present on the occasion. TNS

Mother Tongue Day  

Jalandhar: National Mother Tongue Day was celebrated at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar. Punjabi Jagriti Manch organised a rally on the occasion. Students showed their affection and respect for Punjabi by participating in the rally  and showing that Punjabi culture and Punjabiat were safe. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi said it was imperative to be connected to our own morals, cultural and ethical values in the age of globalisation. TNS

Int’l Mother Language Day  

Jalandhar: The Department of Punjabi of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated International Mother Language Day. Ashok Kumar of Punjabi, Trinity College, delivered a lecture on the importance of mother language in the overall growth of society. He said the government and non-government institutions should promote Punjabi. Students took oath to read, write and speak Punjabi.  TNS
