The young and talented Pooja Verma is all set for her upcoming project, 15 Lakh Kadon Aayunga, opposite Ravinder Grewal, which will release during the second week of March. The movie, written by Naresh Kathooria, produced by Friday Rush Pictures and directed by Manpreet Brar, is a political satire. We catch up with Pooja.

What is your upcoming project about?

The movie is a political satire, based on the issue of Rs 15 lakh, which were promised by the government to be credited in the accounts of people and how people start planning their future prospects accordingly. The movie brings across the subject in a hilarious manner.

You are selective when it comes to signing films

I am quite choosy about the work that I do. The content of the movie and an impactful role is important for me.

What is your fitness and fashion mantra?

I am not a gym person for sure. I eat a lot. I do Zumba and dance classes to keep myself fit.

Being a student of mathematics, how did you end up in this profession?

It just happened by chance; I wanted to be a lecturer and was studying for it. Someone spotted me and I was chosen for a print ad, which I enjoyed shooting. Later, I got my portfolio done and moved to the modelling industry. It was not my passion, but a dream.

How has your journey been?

It takes a lot of patience and as I didn’t have a family background in this industry, it initially seemed impossible to me. But the paths led me to where I am, and I am really happy.

What is your take on the Punjabi cinema?

I have been in this industry since last seven years, and have seen it grow. Earlier, the quantity of movies was more but now the quality and content of the movies has really upgraded.

What changes do you suggest?

I would want to see more women-centric films, like Nidhi Singh and Manikarnika.

What are your future plans? Do you look forward to working in Bollywood?

Right now I am really enjoying where I am but yes, I do want to grow as every other actor and work in Bollywood. For me, basically the content matters. I don’t mind working in web series or serials as well.

Which actors do you want to work with?

Ranveer Singh in Bollywood and Jassi Gill in Pollywood.
