A man’s got to do what he’s got to do and following the same, specially-abled Chaitanya Mukund, on Children’s Day launched his first book, a superhero story, Shivaye-The Wonder Boy, which is his gift to the children. His message is—Find the superhero in yourself rather than looking for it outside.

Having done a post-graduation in journalism and mass communication, Chaitanya is a blogger and motivational speaker, who holds the courage to fight his physical disability with his strong mind and will. He suffers from cerebral palsy and dyslexia. He writes articles as well shares his experiences through a blog—‘The world through my eyes – Memoirs of a special child.’ He says, “Like every child, I used to dream of doing stuff when I grew up. But, I discovered soon enough that I was suffering from something that would remain with me for the rest of my life. So, now I feel no matter how old we get, we must hold on to the child within us as it is the ultimate source of art and creativity.”

In his debut book, he has beautifully woven the story of his struggles and challenges as a specially-abled person. It is an interesting blend of Indian mythology, fiction and reality.

The credit for his positive attitude also goes to his family and friends who provide him the environment and opportunities to grow in all dimensions. Chaitanya explains, “I am limitless. I will continue to challenge the false barriers that our own mind and society define for you. Every person is capable of writing their own destiny by their belief and faith in their ability and constant efforts.”

He made his debut as a model in a Guinness Book World Record fashion event at Chennai in 2018.

Expressing how precious and memorable this journey of writing his first book has been, he hints at a sequel, “First I would like to translate my book into English as I wish it to be available for a wider readership. Then only I will bring the sequel of this one.”
