Ludhiaha: On Thursday, 12 more cases of dengue were reported from parts of the district. Now, the number of dengue cases in the district has gone up to 86. The Health Department has asked people to observe dry day on every Friday and not to let water accumulate in and around their houses. TNS

Man sets car on fire, arrested

Ludhiana:  The Sarabha Nagar police arrested a man for allegedly setting a car on fire over old enmity. The suspect has been identified as Dev Raj, alias Gaggu, of Badwal Awana. The complainant, Gajinder Jha of Badewal told the police that on October 3, when he woke up, he was shocked to see his car gutted in fire. Later, he came to know that the suspect had set his car ablaze. TNS

Armed robbers loot a man

Ludhiana: Two armed persons on a bike looted a man in the Daba area. The complainant, Deepak Verma of Dholewal, told the police that on October 3, he went to Jaspal Bangar village for some work. While he was returning home, two armed bike-borne persons stopped him on the way. They snatched Rs 10,000 in cash, a mobile phone and other valuables from him. They also took away his motorcycle. He said later, he borrowed a phone from someone and informed the police. The police have registered a case against unknown persons. TNS
