The 11th edition of the all-India inter unit sports meet of Bal Bharti Public School (BBPS) began in Dugri today. Around 1,100 players (boys and girls) along with 200 officials from 17 Bal Bharti schools across the country are taking part in seven disciplines in this sports extravaganza.
Nirmaljit Singh Kalsi, Additional Chief Secretary, Punjab government, inaugurated the meet. Former hockey Olympian and Arjuna award winner Surinder Singh Sodhi, who is also the IG, Punjab Police, was the guest of honour.
LR Channa, chairman, Child Education Society, and other members were present on the occasion.
Punam Dogra, Principal, Bal Bharti Public School, welcomed the guests and participants.
SK Bhattacharya, president of the organising society, thanked them and wished participants good luck. The highlight of the opening ceremony was a cultural programme by the host school.
