Kejriwal to campaign in Punjab from May 13-17

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal would campaign in Punjab from May 13 to 17. This information was shared by Sunam MLA and AAP Punjab campaign committee chairman Aman Arora.

“As the polls in Delhi and Haryana will be held on May 12, Arvind Kejriwal will be in Punjab from May 13-17 for campaigning. The party will contest elections on all 13 Lok Sabha seats,” said Arora.

“Our volunteers are our strength and they will visit door to door to create awareness about the party agenda. The successive SAD-BJP and Congress governments had time and again betrayed the trust of people. Their party has made history by fulfilling all promises made to the people of Delhi which is a role model for the rest of the country,” said Arora.

Responding to a query about talks to form an alliance with the Congress, Arora said: “No alliance with the Congress is accepted to us in Punjab as Captain Amarinder Singh has failed to fulfil his promises in the past two years. However, for time being, talks are on to form an alliance with the Congress in Delhi where demography is different. The BJP had won all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi in 2014.”

“The Aam Aadmi Party was formed during a movement against corruption in the UPA government. Now, AAP faces a big question. Who is more dangerous for the country, the one who has caused damage to the country by committing corruption or the divisive forces which are breaking the nation?” he said.

“The BJP is trying to divide the country in the name of religion, temple and what one should eat, wear or speak. To save country from Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, who are more dangerous for the country today, according to us, talks were held to form an alliance with the Congress in Delhi. But the talks remained unsuccessful. For AAP, the country’s interest is always first,” he said.

It was learnt that Kejriwal could carry out road shows and rallies in the state but the plan was yet to be finalised. Deputy Leader of the Opposition Sarvjit Kaur Manuke said the party’s core committee would prepare a schedule for Kejriwal’s campaign in the state.
