Minor boy goes missing from grain market

A minor boy has been missing from the Sahnewal grain market since Saturday. Though a case under Section 346 of the IPC has been registered at the Sahnewal police station on the statement of child’s mother Pratima Singh, who resides at the local grain market, the child is yet to be recovered.

In her complaint Pratima stated to the police that her nine-year-old son Karan had gone to play with his friends as usual in the grain market on Friday at 3 pm. As he did not return home and it grew dark, she felt concerned about his whereabouts. She che-cked the spot wh-ere he used to play every day only to find him missing. Pratima said some unidentified person had hidden her child.

She immediately approached the Sahnewal police in this regard, which registered a case against unidentified accused.

When contacted, investigating officer Suwinderjit Singh said, “We have sent a wireless all over Punjab in this regard. A police party has been deployed for searching child at different places, but he is yet to be recovered.” “We have also searched for child at his relatives place without any positive outcome. He will be traced soon and the accused will be in the police net,” he assured.
