Ludhiana: Lohri was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in BCM Kindergarten, Chandigarh road. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the tiny tots were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. A kite decoration activity was organised for the students of LKG and UKG. Teachers too acquainted the students with the importance of festival. Little BCMites clad in traditional Punjabi attires enjoyed traditional festive food sent in their lunch boxes. Kids were dipped in the spirit of the festival as danced around the holy bonfire on traditional Punjabi numbers.

GNPS, Mullanpur

The school here celebrated Punjab’s seasonal festival ‘Lohri’ on 11th January 2019 students of classes III to V sang a song related to the festival. Students of Pre-Primary performed dance and gave colourful presentation on Winter Season. Students of class I & II recited the poem. Speeches on Lohri were given by the students and the teachers.

Bal Bharati School

Festivals in India are not only the rituals to perform but they are explicitly associated with our legacy to celebrate togetherness. Today, Bal Bharatians were taken in by air of festivity during Lohri Celebration. The spirit of the students was high when they tapped their happy feet on the beats of ‘Giddha—Bhangra’ and sang traditional Lohri songs like ‘Sunder Mundriye’. Amidst celebrations, the message of Lohri- ‘to set aside the differences’ was evident. The blooming buds, experiencing the warmth of Lohri, circled the traditional bonfire which was lit in the campus and fed popcorns and peanuts to it. They seemed highly elated at the occasion and expressed their gratitude for providing them an opportunity to enjoy like one big happy family. The atmosphere was cheerful and everyone wished good luck, happiness and prosperity to each other. 

Childhood Kindergarten School

The festival of Lohri which marks the end of winters is celebrated across most Northern parts of India, especially in Punjab and Haryana. Today students and teachers of Childhood Kindergarten, Punjab Mata Nagar celebrated lohri with a lot of joy and excitement. In the morning, little boys and girls went from one class to another singing the famous song related to the festival. They were apprised of the significance of the festival. Principal Ishneet Sharma advised the students to enjoy the warmth of this holy fire and burn all their fears in it.

Kinder Piller Ivy School

The school here celebrated Lohri at the school campus, where a huge bonfire was lit, later the celebration was followed by a colorful function to make it memorable, where children also got an opportunity to showcase their talents in a unique manner. The celebration commenced after lighting the bonfire by Director Vandana Sharam and Director Babita Sharma. Groundnuts and Reweri were also distributed to everyone present there and gave it a traditional look.

DCM Presidency School

Keeping with the tradition of celebrating all festivals with fervor and gaiety and introducing the children to their rich culture and heritage a special assembly was conducted here on Lohri by the students of Class II. The assembly started with a speech highlighting the importance of festival of Lohri. The students sang a song immersed in the rich cultural folklore of Punjab.The assembly concluded with a resplendent and energetic dance performance as flamboyant as the festival of Lohri.
