Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Bharatsinh Solanki was put in an embarrassing situation with his “resignation letter” from the party containing heaps of abuses on the high command doing rounds on the social media today.

Solanki contacted media houses to deny his resignation and accused the BJP of playing the “mischief” to create confusion among the people and his party workers to take “undue advantage”. He claimed the BJP attempted to create similar confusion by putting in circulation through the social media a fake list of candidates for the first phase of elections for 89 seats.

His “resignation letter” too was released on the GPCC letter head written in Hindi and addressed to party chief Sonia Gandhi. It claimed he was highly unhappy with the high command because of the “dictatorial way” the list of candidates was finalised ignoring the recommendations of the state party president.

Solanki alleged the person who forged his signature apparently did not realise that he always signed as “Bharat Solanki”, and not “Bharatsinh Madhavsinh Solanki”, as had been put in the forged resignation letter. He said the IT cell of the state Congress would lodge a police complaint for cheating and forgery against the unknown culprit.
