The Jharkhand Police are likely to approach the courts, submitting a report against one Sumit Yadav, on whose complaint RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s two “aides” were sent to Birsa Munda Central Jail, allegedly to serve their master there.

Madan Yadav and Lakshman Kumar, it seems, connived with Sumit to ensure they were put behind bars the day Lalu was sent to the jail (December 23 last). Sumit will now have to face legal proceedings. He had complained that Madan and Lakshman had snatched Rs 10,000. Dramatically, the accused had surrendered before a court.

“As per Sections 185 and 211 of the IPC, action is to be taken against a person who files a false case and misuses the system”, said SK Sinha, SHO, Lower Bazar police station. Ranchi SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi had ordered a probe following allegations that Madan and Lakshman were in jail to serve Lalu.

Asked if the allegation was true, jailer AK Chaudhary replied: “How can that be? Lalu is lodged in a special ward where no one is allowed to visit him, save those who have the requisite permission.” Shakti Singh Yadav of the RJD, rubbishing all charges, said Madan and Lakshman were not Lalu’s aide but RJD workers. “Lalu ji did not ask them to be there. The administration must check the veracity of facts.”
